Front wheel spacer

hey I just removed the front wheel bearings and the spacer came out with what i think is the "flange/spacer" (part #9) wedged onto it. See pic. is this ok? When reassembling, just leave it as is? I cant tell from the parts diagram. Thanks in advance!

That spacer is not supposed to be wedged into anything. Both side inner bearing races just but up against that spacer to keep the bearings in line when compressed by the axle bolt when it is tightened. Same with the rear.

Yes, that's exactly how it should be. Leave it just as it is.

I assume the spacer is just sitting on top the bearing in your pic. If it is wedged into that bearing, then yeah, something's terribly wrong.

Pretty much. It keeps the spacer centered enough in the hub that you can insert the axle.
