George Barber passed on this morning. For any who don’t know, he is the man who set up Barber museum and Barber Motorsports Park. I was fortunate to know him, and like everyone who ever met him would also testify, he was the epitome of a gentleman. Humble, soft spoken, and so committed to building a facility and events where motorcyclists could experience the international passion and excitement of the sport.
Though I have tears in my eyes I am not going to fall into sadness. I am going to remember his pleasure as he watched peoples eyes light up as they walked through the museum. He spread joy, and that is the greatest accomplishment to which a person can aspire.
