Figure I should lump all these into one spot instead of spread around 37 different threads.

A while back I came up with an idea to solve a problem of a lack of centerstand on my Triumph Speed Twin 900.

I printed a 3D prototype to test the critical dimensions.

I then designed a racy-looking model with reinforcement plates and sent my designs off to SendCutSend and awaited patiently for my plates to show up. Tried a tab-and-slot method to speed up assembly and removing having to lay shit out with a ruler and soapstone.

I machined a shoulder for a pin after work today out of 304, and also turned a ½" rod of 303 stainless down to 12mm (.472"). Used the compound slide set at 5⁰ to turn a taper and drilled a .156" hole for a ⅛" cotter pin.

Welded the hat to the pin first so that I could make sure the steel lift-bracket assembly wouldn't twist so much I wouldn't be able to put the pin thru.

Welded the lift-bracket assembly together, and for the most part it worked just like I dreamed. Ended up having to grind off the welds for one of the long tie-plates and removing that one, and also welded on some angle iron for reinforcement, but overall, works a treat.

I like the tab and slot.
It's a recent concept I've learned about so I wanted to incorporate it into my design. It eliminated timely layout work and using a billion magnets to hold the assembly together while I tacked it. Sped up the whole process from opening the box to lifting the bike by at least 50 percent, if not more.
 
Made collars for exhaust down the road. 304 stainless from some scrap bar ends.

After fitting them I think I'm going to trim them back about 8mm so there's not such a Grand Canyon of a gap between the flange and the head. That extra 8mm means I can make a thicker flange too (which will also be stainless steel.)

Have a look here, Jake. That oil tube always wants to favor the left side... to the point where it sometimes touches there. Make sure that tube has at least 1/8" clearance from the head and rocker. Yours looks like it might be touching... and vibes will chew a hole in the tube if it is.

The tubes are chrome plated copper. It's pretty easy to tweak.

It wasn't touching, but I gently persuaded it to have more clearance.

One of the legs split on our folding bench/picnic table.

It was suggested that I run "a-cuppla wood screws an' it'll be fine".

Anyone that has come to "know" me thru this forum, knows I am NOT "a-cuppla screws to fix it" type of guy.

Absolutely not.

This morning we stopped by our local Ace Hardware for paintbrushes. I have been, as of late, wandering over to their metal shapes isle. Stocking up on steel and a little bit of aluminum. Round and square tubes, flat stock, angle iron. Hoarding it on the bottom shelf of one of my workbenches.

Among that steel that I got today was five 3-foot lengths of 1x⅛" strip steel.

Fabbed up a brace for the leg and screwed it on, using the aforementioned "cuppla screws". Works a treat.

The "steel boutique" at Deep Homo is beyond stupid on prices. I really need to get to my favorite industrial steel supplier and pick up some stock. 1 x .125 flat bar, some 1" or 1.5" angle and a stick of 1/4" round stock just to have it laying around. I had to do some serious scrounging to complete my last "quickie" project.
