Have you ever tried to use the Head gasket from the universal fiber gasket sheet
I have one from AutoZone Called COMETIC Fiber Material Sheet - Multi-Layer steel Head Gasket.

I wonder if that's good enough for Head Gasket for our bikes.

Thanks

I've not tried to make a gasket from their material, but the pre-made Cometic MLS are the best head gaskets. I'm installing one on a CB750 shortly..

Edit: I don't think just the fiber material would make a good head gasket

Sorry for the late reply I have been away.
The supplied head gasket was 0.030" copper and I made another out of 0.020". Thicker stock is available just ask your supplier what they have.
Is a stock Yamaha gasket NLA ?
If you do decide on a thinner gasket you should be ok with piston to valve clearance as on a stock XS650 there is a lot of clearance and I am guessing a 750 would be the same. Still do check it your self though.
