Do you have a bike? Maybe show us some pictures, we love piccies here.
I'm from near Newport in South Wales.
Taffy is my troublesome XS650 ride, for which I have posted an extensive build thread.
@Paul Sutton is also from Cardiff, South Wales; there may well be others.

Loads of us from Blighty! Largest number is from US and Canada but members from many countries on this forum. This is the best place for XS650 owners - help with issues, mods, sources for parts. As Ads says, put up some pictures. Tell us about yourself, bikes you have, had, would like to own.

I can't remember how to remove the battery box now LOL

You don't need to remove the battery box - it's the most central part of the motorcycle, so you remove everything else from around it.

I recall a thread on the battery box removal some years ago, something akin to putting a square peg in a round hole , twist and shout or some such. Thinking removing the rear tire might be a way also. It's a bugger for sure.
