Hey ya'll! I've made another post on this board already, but I'm in the process of finalizing a deal with a hobbiest who is looking to thin their heard. He's offering a 1980 model that looks to be a Special II. He's including a bunch of extra parts, one being a whole second engine that's already been pulled apart. The engine in the roller is complete, and the bike was complete when he purchased it. I'll be driving out to see it Friday and make sure it all specs out like he says. I can't wait to get my hands on it!

It certainly appears to be a Special II. ‘79 had aluminum rims. ‘80 had chrome steel rims. The ‘81 had a lift off seat rather than hinged. Yes, a good choice. Oh, ‘80 got electronic ignition.
Yes it dooo. To be honest I'm way more excited about the kickstarter! I've never had a kickstart bike so its awesome these bikes have both (or at least the capability)

My whole idea is that if you have to kick it, you'll keep it in better form.
I always said it'll keep you honest.
Pushing a button is too easy. First it's a 2 sec push then a 5 sec then a 10sec.
then you're dead on the side of the road.
If you have to kick it you will pay much closer attention to it and keep it prime!
Kicking a well-tuned bike is easy and so rewarding. Symbiotic. The feels :bike:
Again, no offence to those with knees I don't have yet. I'm gettin there.

I totally hear you on the symbiosis, that's what has me so excited for the kick starter. I yearn to be one with the machine

I am going to have to learn how to kick. Do I pivot the chromey thing on the right out?
