Hello. I’m new here, which is because I just yesterday bought my first XS650 (1976 xs650c). Honestly, it’s my first bike, though I rode a kz400 around a bit as a much younger man. I got this bike for a song because the loom caught fire last time it was ridden. Though not pictured, I have the tank and side covers. It’s honestly in very respectable shape. It would need paint and chrome to be perfect, but the tank is totally clean inside, it’s very nearly complete, has spark and compression, and I can tell the carbs were working very recently. Unfortunately, it is missing the lefthand foot peg assembly; I have studs (with nuts), but nothing else.

Question: are these unique by year, or are there ranges of years where they are the same. I find a lot of 77s, a few 75s… basically everything besides 1976. Can I just order one of the others??

Also… hello everyone. Checking in from Eugene, Oregon. I suppose I’ll be around some the next few months / years.

Lots of 'em available on Ebay. This is the cheapest I found. If you'll give me a memory jog tomorrow, I'll check in my shed. Pretty sure I have a few. You wanting chrome or black?
Jim! Thank you for the great tips! That’s a great price, especially because I expect to buy new rubbers.

If you do have something, I’m looking for Chrome

I have a pair of chrome ones. They're nothing to write home about, but the rubber is intact on both. Again, nothing to write home about... but serviceable.

Then there's a single left side that was once black, now just rusted, but would clean up easily with a wire brush. Also has a serviceable rubber. Send me a PM if you're interested.

Not sure if I am in a new-guy-limp-mode or if I am just missing something obvious, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to DM.

Either way, I will compare what I have against what you have, and message you tonight. I am definitely interested.

Yep, you didn't have the requisite number of comments to PM. You do now... the magic number is 5 comments.
To PM, just hover over the persons avatar and you'll get a pop-up with "Start Conversation" button. Self explanatory from there.
