Homemade XS1 XS1B XS2 TX650 gas cap seal

Got off my butt and ordered the OEM part suggested by Marty. Pleasant surprise… priced lower than US for once. Will report how it fits in a week.

When I was messing with the seal a few weeks ago, I misplaced the key for the cap. Not a good thing. Long story short, got it open….see pic.

My way was more stressful and fun :). I was desperate as I was leaving for a ride and couldn’t recall how much fuel I had left. I’m sure the missing key will show up soon. Glad I had a spare cap with two keys - if I didn’t have a spare I wouldn’t have done the hack job on the old cap. I’ll keep this in mind for the next time I lose my keys!

Sumo Rubber lists a couple fuel cap gaskets with the OE part numbers. Perhaps one is correct? I can not find any parts breakdown for a ‘76 or later standard showing that gasket.
If you can’t unload it local, I have Specials your gasket will fit. I’ll buy it from you.

Thx but shipping costs wouldn’t make it practical for you to buy it. I’m going to post it up for sale locally tonight. Do you know what years / models this would fit?
