A little overdue for a progress report on this one. I’ve found some ambition and a break in the heat in my shop. Currently working on some cosmetics for the 305. I did a quick spray bomb of the tank and side covers. No body filler or wet sanding, although now I am tempted to go back and refine that. Happy with the results so far. I am putting more time into the fenders. They are nice and solid but this time I’m filling dents with Bondo. I AM NO PAINTER! Let that be clear. But I find satisfaction in doing a good job on my own. I also repainted the headlight in satin black to match the frame and fork ears.
One other task I finally checked off was fixing a persistent oil leak in the clutch cover. I’ve had it on and off four times trying to seal it. I finally scavenged a cover from o r of my parts donors. A good clean and paint, and reused the gasket with a smear of Hylomar Blue and Bob’s your uncle!
Hoping to have both fenders finished up this week! New tank pads and emblems have also been ordered. Still lots left to do but it’s starting to look like a bike.
