How does this work? Angular dimension valve...

I imagine with the pitch of the adjuster thread being 1mm. 1 turn =1mm, 1/2 turn = 0.5mm and so on. Much easier to work with slot headed adjusters.
 
Never saw or heard of those.

But did work on some Cat engines where the valve adjusters screws had notches on them and a spring loaded part that held the adjustment. Also had what here I see called elephant foot swivels on the camfollowers. The procedure to adjust these was to tighten down till there was no lash or a very slight drag on the elephant feet when rotating with finger. Then back off a specified number of "clicks".
