I purchased off eBay GSXR and R6 rear sets. Now I need some help on how to mount them. I have a drum rear brake. And for those who have done it know the brake rod is inboard of the swing arm and the rear set is outboard. Looking for suggestons on how to line them up. I noticed INXS did it must be others out there.

Will probably need advice for the shift side as well.

The last set I did I cut the brake pedal up and welded it up to form a short arm, with the rearsets pushing this, rather than trying line it up and pulling the arm on the rear brake drum.

cut the gear lever up to do the same thing

Don't worry about where the brake rod is, the concern is running the linkage to the brake pivot; you'll need to find, fabricate or modify a collar for the pivot in order to attach the rod. Your rods need to be adjustable to the right length and run straight enough that they don't bind. There's no more to it than that.
