How Would You Fix This?

'81 Special with an earlier rear fender. I have a backpack that fits over the sissy bar and sits on the fender between the seat and the tail light. When the pack is off, there's the remnant of the Special tail light mount. Would like to replace that with something else to improve the look when the pack isn't there... What are your ideas?

I think I'd try to make up an aluminum plate "cover" to bolt over it, maybe use stainless acorn nuts on the bolts to make it look nice.

What about the original taillight? Just the cover (no guts), to act as a reflector, and cover the "hole"? ...Or would that be too much work?...

Sort of looks like a lady with the back of her skirt raised up, showing her tail. Ewww...nice, I like 5 twins idea. Another light cover unless clear would just be too much.

Good ideas, all. It occurred to me in the spirit of If You Can't Fix It Feature It, the oval in the center would make a nice picture frame...

I go with @willis. A tool bag or roll fits nicely in that spot. Or spend money and buy a Texavina seat for the bike and eliminate that big piece of aluminum.
