Hugh's CDI system wiring - dumb points question

I'm hooking up the new CDI complete kit from HHB. It's a 78 Special with kickstart only.
I'm not great with electrical stuff... Does this system replace/bypass the need for the points that I had on the original setup?
There's no mention of what to do with that wiring in the instructions.
