Ignition kits

Hey Guys
New to these XS 650s, I just bought a 1978 special for a project and wondering about ignitions.
Is Mikes XS pretty much the place to go for electronic ignition kit and PMA kit. I'm in Ontario Canada if that matters for shopping.

Boyer Brandsen would probably be a better option than Mikes for electronic ignition. If your heart is set on a PMA (do your research before buying anything) i'd probably look harder at VAPE. It's more expensive, but much higher quality according to consumer reports here.

Yes have been doing some looking on the forums seems like everyone has some opinion on what's best, that's why I'm asking here. As for PMA I was thinking that I would need it for better lights and heated grips, am I wrong about thinking stock system cant handle?

I don't believe there's any reason to change an entire charging system if you already have one that works. Do you know the condition of your charging system? From memory the PMAs out there are around 200w output which isn't much higher than the stock system output. That's one thing to check out.

For ignition system, look at Tri Spark as well as Boyer Bransden. Either would be a good choice.

I'm in the UK so I don't use MikesXS. The general opinion here seems that a lot of what they sell isn't especially good quality.

LED headlight will be brighter and save enough amps to run heated grips and a usb port.
