Intake boot leak that won’t stay away

Well it has the permatex on it now. So if it leaks again after assembling it this time then I’ll be going at it with the sanding block. Thanks 5twins

Both sides on gasket ?
This is exactly the situation the slop / chemical can help And people are doing business on these chemicals
making a living putting food on the table. And have done it since the seventies at least .
The slightly warped uneven surfaces and back in the day not tightened to spec according to pattern.

Yes Dont put on to much I once sucked it into a VOLVO Stromberg carburetor and then damaged the threads
Being a greenhorn trying to clean it :Lesson Learned
And yes gasket can get destroyed next time --- the advantage is next time might not be needed

I only put a thin bead around the hole on both sides of the gasket and made sure to clean any excess that oozed out when tightened down. There wasn’t much ooze though cuz I only did the thin bead

I only put sealer on one side of the gasket, the manifold side, and it's not so much for sealing but rather so the gasket comes off with the manifold any time I remove it. Once you figure out the issue and correct it (like I said, I think that the manifold surface on the engine is "warped"), I'd do the same with the new gasket (sealer on one side only).
