Interesting motorcycles, not XS650

In 1913 the brothers [Abernathy] Louis [Bud] age 13, and Temple age 9, rode from Oklahoma to New York City on the Indian Motorcycle seen in the photo. This was not the Abernathy boys firs adventure.
In 1909 the two brothers, Louis “Bud” aged nine and Temple five, encountered a host of Old West obstacles, including wolves and wild rivers, when they rode more than 1,000 miles from Oklahoma to Santa Fe and back – ALONE!.
The following year (1910) the brothers set their sights on New York City, which they reached after a month of hard riding.
In the summer of 1911, they did the impossible. They rode nearly 4,000 miles, from New York to San Francisco, in only sixty-two days. Once again, the Abernathy Boys had made a historic ride without any adult assistance and accomplished an equestrian feat which has never been equaled.

HUB CENTER STEERING

There have been many variations on this theme.
Yamaha tried to make a commercial success with the GTS1000 model but it didn't sell well.
Bimota, Aprilia, Ducati; and has been used in high level racing too.

Wow those are different. Looks bulky and heavy, but if used in racing it must be lightweight.

I think the GTS1000 should have been a shaft drive bike to go along with that front end.
and single side swing arm.
The GTS1000 about defines "Gentleman's express" bike.
It very much prefers high speed sweeper type corners.

GOLD WING A-GO-GO

Messing about on eBay last night after dinner and too many glasses of red wine.
It seems I accidentally bid on the bike below, and bloody won it!!
The wifes gonna kill me...... Help!

USA import low ownership.

WING 2.JPG

Two UK owners last one of 4 years, he did less that 400 miles on it. Total miles under 15,000mls.

Pretty great condition overall. Carbs are a little 'fluffy' but after Taffy I'm now good with carbs!

Did I say the wifes gonna kill me!
At least it will be easier than The Brat (GS1200) for her to get on the pillion; thats what I will say anyway.

I never thought I'd say this about a Gold Wing...BUT, COOL! That should make a great 2 up bike for you and the missus to enjoy.
