Interesting motorcycles, not XS650

I just saw this rather rare ( in the U.S. ) bike pop up on Craigslist, this bike sold like hot cakes for 15 years in Europe and after much howling from Americans about how manufacturers never bring their European models over here , Honda decided in 2010 to begin selling it here. By now it was in its third generation, it received glowing reviews from the
motorcycle magazines that tested it. V-twin, shaft drive, fuel injected, available ABS, and reliable as an anvil and……….they collected dust on the sales room floor. It was yanked from the lineup after 3 years.
It seems Americans think bikes have to be either big heavy hairy chested cruisers or have eye ball flattening, set your hair on fire acceleration. :yikes:

Bikes like this, with modest power, terrific wind protection, really clever built in luggage ( with a unique pass through from one saddle bag to the other ) , reliable and comfortable, never seem to do well. And did I mention it sold for less that $10,000 new?
Like its fraternal brother the PC800, it has developed a little cult following, but most Americans consider it boring. And that’s a shame.
