Interesting motorcycles, not XS650

This V16 2 stroke is named the "1916". The bike is Supercharged to force the intake charge in, as opposed to a standard 2-stroke that uses the underside of the piston to pull the intake charge through the crankcase. The top ends were from Victa 160s.

Nick Smith:
Shropshire (Salop) registration, after July 1912, when they reached AW 1000. Appears to have the updated 770cc JAP engine with a single camwheel, and an Armstrong hub gear.
The local archives have a card index which would tell you the make: Shropshire Records Centre, Castle Gates, Shrewsbury, SY1 2AQ (01743 255350) - card index 1921 to 1972.
FWIW I think it's a Trump-JAP - the narrow tank and no dropped tube appear to suggest it.
PS Allison sez the horse is prolly a Hackney pony.
