I have seen a XSR900 GP in the flesh at a bike show. Even had a sit on it , had a fantasy of buying one for a few days but eventually it passed.
It would be perfect for a younger me. I think they look fantastic apart from that awful number plate mount but a tail tidy would put that right.

I agree on the plate mount. some are downright hideous like the tire wrap around style that comes off the swing arm. Have a friend building a 2022 MT-09
witha garret turbo,charger Bigger valves,low comp pistons, h-beam alloy rods. up here in snow country their turbo'd Yam Nitro triple cyl. sleds turbo's were dynoing 250-260 hp. He is hoping for 240 hp on the bike. I'll update when he's done the winter build. Imagine that motor in this beauty of a bike!
There is a firm in Aussie offers a kit either DIY or fitted options for the MT09 . Included remapping the ECU.

There is definitely a nod to the CB 900f visible. The 900f was fine looking bike in my book.

Very difficult to say a price. Here in the UK prices for bikes like that are falling and have been for the last two years.
According to my M/C 'Red Book' it says a 1970 Royal Enfield is worth between $2000-$20,000 from #6 =Poor condition to #1=Perfect condition. (6 steps)

that said, this i asking price, price paid is way lower IMHO,
The markets is much weaker these days, but no one selling wants to acknowledge losing his pants. people always seem to think that theres going to be a person willing to pay for exactly their bike
