1950 Riedel Imme, Luxus version (factory chrome rims and horn).
Only a handful exist in the states, maybe a hundred in the world, and only a few anywhere of this Luxus version. After showing it to an expert on these, he feels it is probably the nicest unrestored one in the states, and probably in the world. It certainly is in better shape than I even expected, from the pictures I bought it through.
One owner, the seller’s grandfather bought it new in 1950. Has the original triangle shaped battery still even, no one I know has even seen one. He drained the acid and stored it. Has the optional Pagusa pillion seat and handlebar spotlight. I have all original paperwork, tools, spare parts, etc.
Very unique with its single sided fork and rear swingarm, with the swingarm also being the exhaust pipe ! And a rear mono shock (keep in mind this was 1950 !)
3 speed with no neutral, the clutch lever has a clip to keep it out of gear. 100cc 2 stroke with a Bing carb (hidden behind a cover to keep the “beehive” engine look.) Imme roughly translates to Bee in German, hence the flying bee logo and the engine look.

@gggGary - wow, so you actually bought it?

seen a few in german museums ive been to, but were either restored or in much worse patina condition.

Have you tried to ride it? Should be interesting

The one thing that caught my eye was that inspection lamp on the handlebar, wonder what was the purpose. could be nice if you post some detail of that lamp.

The imme together with the nsu max (have one ;) ) were 50's german masterpieces. The max sold well, 90K pcs in its ten year production but the imme was too left field to have that kind of success.
