Interesting motorcycles, not XS650

It's a pleasant ride. Kinda zippy, but not what you'd call fast. Certainly not by modern standards.
The best part is riding by the EPA office with one finger raised high, leaving a trail of blue smoke!
Like all vintage machines, pretty quick for it's time, but kinda' tame compared to what's available now. On the other hand, you don't have to plug it into a laptop to fix it either.

Yeah modern reliability is a double edged sword. You get automotive like reliability and ease of ownership, but so many sensors and electronics that you just can’t diagnose yourself….unless you’re a tech geek. 😄

100% agree. I'm still using a flip phone, and I'm dead serious. No debit card, ancient laptop and my truck is a 94' F-350 Diesel with no electronics. I'm a 6 volt guy living in a 12+ volt world.

Even if you are, sometimes there's not much you can do.
The triumph I have is a 2017 1200 thruxton. They are known to run quite lean. With aftermarket pipes, air filter and a cat delete (which many people do) they are really lean.
There is no simple way to have it tuned because the software is propriety and triumph won't/can't release it. EPA and all that.
Fortunately the ECU is able to compensate enough so that it's not dangerous for the engine but it would be happier if you could give it a little more fuel.

Often wished I had asked my dad about the Henderson he had when he was younger must have been in late 1930's before he went in the service. In his early days in the service he did motorcycle escort duty for convoys in the southern states before getting stuck in a halftrack over in Europe.

My dad had H-D 3 wheeler when I was a kid and an NSU before that. Wish I'd asked him more too.
