Itchy Boots Fan Boi's (Spoilers Ahead)

Maybe mentioned before in this thread but seems a pita to plug and unplug the wire to start and stop the bike. A simple toggle switch would be better. If she’s using that a theft deterrent she could use the toggle switch through the day and remove it overnight.
I think her plan is to limp to Baghdad and get Moritz to send her a new wiring harness.

I’m also rather surprised she didn’t have the wiring harness repaired. Iirc it was 14 wires. Even if not so pretty, I would think it could be patched up. If the crooks cut it right at the back of the ignition switch perhaps a bit trickier. Oh well, I’m sure she has a plan.
She was looking at it, but stripping all the wires and crimping them back together may have been out of her abilities, sometimes shortening a main harness that goes to the handlebars can be more trouble than it looks.

I was thinking if I had to do it while on a trip I’d add several inches (or more) of wire to each cut wire and rejoin them. Seems that she finds people that are able to improvise repairs so I’m surprised she didn’t find help for this issue.

Yes, I believe solder splices in that area will break. I think her plan to replace the entire harness is the way to go.
If I had a crack at it I’d use naked butt splices and heat shrink. Since it’s an area of movement, the new harness is warranted

I would get a push wire connector and plug it in.

Was catching up on a couple of episodes. The guy who befriended her in Iraq, Mohammad, has an interesting bike. Huge cylinder, perhaps a big displacement 2 stroke or extra cooling fins for hot climates? I also noticed it didn’t have a clutch lever. I was surprised about that.

There’s no way I’d travel where she is right now (episode 28ish). So many police and military - who knows what trouble one could run into.

It looked like an old CZ made behind the iron curtain, the cops all seem to know about her but if you watch in the periphery of the camera views you can see men watching her. I’ve said before that she is so aloof that she seems unaware of the dangers of her surroundings.

Baghdad is kind of a cross between India and Mexico; it’s chaotic traffic, electrical wires strewn haphazardly all over, broken infrastructure and modern “Rat Patrol” style vehicles with 50 cals in the bed parked everywhere.
Saddam’s castle wreaked of opulence in the face of poverty, I’m glad we toppled him and his sons rule, and that holy site; omg I have never seen as many marble columns and crystals that old and still intact, the prophet Mohammad’s cousin buried there gives insight into how old it is.
Once again the people are very humble and polite unlike here, another wonderful insight into 3rd world humanity from Noraly

This is not a spoiler, for those of you who aren’t up to date, but rather a comment on something that happened in her latest video. There was a guy riding with Noraly in the latest video, who was riding a new Royal Enfield Himalayan, and the bike kept dying when he made a left turn. The guy commented that it was a problem with the Indian bikes.
He indicated there was a problem with the wiring somewhere. Doesn’t that seem odd on a new bike? The Royal Enfield have improved greatly in quality in recent years.

I had a new Triumph back in 2007 that had a habit of randomly dying. It turned out to be a little check ball valve that was in the fuel line, it was supposed to stop the flow of gas if the bike tipped over. The ball would get bounced into the closed position and get stuck there. That one took me a while to figure out. 🤔

That was ironic and funny as he was riding with noraly to check out her new repair and his bike was breaking down!

The Kuwait City dealership did a nice job fixing up Frankie. At the end of the video she said the dealer wouldn’t accept payment from her. Seems to me this has happened several times before. Restores my faith in humanity. There’s still good people all over the world!
Complete wash and tear down, 2 tires, chain and sprockets, oil and filter, complete wire harness re and re, lube cables and go over all nuts, bolts and adjustments; priceless!!!

That would have been a pretty expensive bill. It seems to have been common practice to not take money from her on this voyage.
It says something big about the people in these countries, quite contrary to what we have been told on this side of the pond. I honestly thought women where at a level below goats over there; I had heard stories of 12 year old girls being traded for goats, man do I feel gullible and misinformed! these people are truly the salt of the earth and Noraly is spreading that message.
