Itchy Boots Fan Boi's (Spoilers Ahead)

I’m posting this, just as a sidebar, that goes to the dangers of traveling in Iran. Deciding to go into Iran despite warnings this British couple was arrested sometime in January and their whereabouts were just recently disclosed. Iran has a history of arresting foreigners on trumped up security charges and them holding them for bargaining chips in some future negotiations.

A British couple arrested in Iran on unspecified “security charges” have been identified as Craig and Lindsay Foreman – a husband and wife who were mid-way through a round-the-world motorbike ride.

Mrs Foreman, a life coach with a doctorate in psychology, and Mr Foreman, a carpenter, were planning on reaching Australia, but were detained last month after they crossed into Iran from Armenia.

Now, their family says they are in a “distressing situation” and are working with the Foreign Office to secure their release.

The couple, in their early 50s, have been documenting their travels on social media.

Mrs Foreman said she was “having an amazing time” in Iran while Mr Foreman described “lovely people” in a “lovely country”.

At the risk of being deleted.

This is happening in the states these days.
Countries have travel warnings for the US.

My father was arrested by SAVAK in 1970, sent to a prison just north of Tehran and never heard from again. This was in friendlier times when the Shah ruled the Country, it’s even worse now.
Noraly has been there twice now, as well as Afghanistan and Pakistan, she either has horseshoes up her ass, a guardian angel or just plan naivety.
I pray for the Foreman’s.

Not saying it would never happen to her.

Her advantage is her high internet profile. Iran does rely on tourism so if she was detained without a word and disappeared, even Iran would realise the backlash wouldn't bode well.

Iran and the Netherlands have strong trade relations as well. Nationality has advantages, I never got nationalised as an Australian in part due to an Australian passport put more of a target on your back due to the close relationship to the US, when it came to travel

People think they are backward, far from it, their culture is the cradle of civilisation even if todays interpretation on the Koran has been hijacked by extreamists

If you haven’t been keeping up with Noraly, things have been real interesting lately. She just passed through Pakistan and entered Taliban controlled Afghanistan. She was taken into a room and interrogated immediately upon entering the country and the Taliban is tracking her movements. She seems to be taking it in stride, and most folks seem friendly to her, but the Taliban is very scary. Women are completely oppressed and controlled there. I hope she gets through safely.

Well for those of you still following Itchy Boots, she just finally left Taliban ruled Afghanistan ( thank God! ) those guys were scary. Especially when they pulled her into some compound a couple times for interrogation. 😲
She just entered Tajikistan, which is still an authoritarian regime, but not women hating religious zealots!
A night and day difference in modernity. Afghans dirt road and mud brick buildings gave way to modern cars, roads and buildings. One note of interest, the roads were busy with Chinese made electric taxis. 🤔

What I have heard in some cultures -- even if the Women are oppressed they have a family .And Clans
If Treating a woman wrong. Not following the Cultural rules.
It can be a matter of family Honor and Reputation Disrespecting the Whole Family.
There are of course .. different sizes and more or less important clans . But that is unknown at the situation.
Get it wrong they can cut your Throat .
Or the balls ..
So no one can do as they please towards unknown women ,,and it is known. Social skills. .

Everywhere in the world there are dangerous places but it is not certain that an otherwise oppressed woman are not safe at daytime at
" Normal " places.

I have heard of Southern Europe Man is beating his wife then the Woman's Brothers comes
So you like to fight --- Beating the man .. What I hear the Police is not acting
It is a Family affair not a Police matter within limits.

A Taleban following her she is safer than anywhere else don't know about Afghanistan but some places there is a man driving and along
So they can have followed her on these grounds not being suspicious . Not everything is bad and evil with Afghanistan
I got help carrying my Suitcases by two Afghan women So there are good people therefrom also .They dont get good press
But there are good things

I first started following as she was riding thru western Canada and up to the Yukon on her Honda... very interesting motivated lady.
Obviously loves her life and that is what it it about.
