I'll be posting under this thread as sort of a creative writing exercise sharing about myself, my '81 XS650 Special ll and some of my experiences with the bike over the last nine or ten years. And my horrible grammar and punctuation. More to come. Take it or leave it. Jim
Yes. Gave it a few dunks in kerosene and a light brush. Thanks for the feedback guys.I like that technique, I’ve done the same myself. For cleaning I just sloshed the chain around in a jug of kerosene, hung the chain to drain right back into the jug, then just hosed it off and threw it into some oil, just like you did. It comes out sparkling clean with zero scrubbing.

He/she hasn't missed many meals. I've had 2 silver tabbies, both of them were great cats.….and a meatloaf laying on the floor……
I have a chain laying in oil in a narrow tray (drywall mud) just waiting to get knocked over by the rambunctious 9 and 10 grands. I really like your method of dangling it into the jug. Kudos.I like that technique, I’ve done the same myself. I'd be honored Jim. I'm partial to a little greasy spoon on Southwest Boulevard called Dagwoods. I'll keep in touch.I'll follow.
Horrible grammar is right up my alley.
Ya know.... jus' occurred to me that we're prolly 10-15 miles or so apart. Maybe we should meet up and have a cuppa one of these days?
