Call me a traditionalist/luddite, but I prefer the radial engine version.

Agreed, but keeping that airframe flying is a Good Thing. Same goes for the DC3. They're out there with the same conversion and still flying.
Yeah, jets and turboprops vs. pistons are like comparing a Glock to a single action Colt revolver. They are superior in every way way, but lack soul.
Similar to the 2-stroke vs 4-stroke debate. And just like that debate... I love 'em all in equal measure.
And jets do have a soul Terry. From a P&W F110 that pulls like a freight train in an F-15 to a J-85 in a 50yr old T-38... they have their quirks and needs.... a soul, if you like.
