A heart condition almost took me out last year. I decided to reassemble my old XS for the same reasons - don’t wanna wait til it’s too late. I’m fine now ……

I’m happy to hear you are doing well now! 😃 Good luck with getting your XS back on the road. Be sure to post some photos on forum as you go!
Btw, my XS2 is now living the good life on the California coast, but I’m still riding! 😉

I have been riding with a mostly BMW group since trading some of my Labor for the 2005 K1200S. We take a ride every Tue for lunch and normally cover anywhere from 200-300 miles. We wind our way around the state of Idaho, Washington, Montana and parts of Oregon. This is from our last ride with a stop on the Columbia river and Rosevelt lake in Washington. Most of the guys are 60+ and we have one guy on a KTM who is an insane (very good) rider. For a bunch of old guys they really move. I try to stay somewhere behind the faster riders but no way I want to try and keep up. Helicopters have a hard time landing in some of those wooded areas. We had about 14 guys on this ride.

No Castles, But Catsup's Comin'
Not a lot of varied scenery in S-W Ontario, but here is a tomato field being harvested, the product is dumped into these 20 foot pups and then hauled two trailers per semi into a processing plant 30 or 40 miles away to be made into sauces, canned tomatoes etc. The yellowing field behind is a crop of maturing soybeans. Just up the road is a field of newly planted winter wheat, just showing up as a hazy green on the landscape.
Great day for a ride on the low miles Special, just notched 8000 km on it testing my painstakingly installed Ascot exhaust system.
Sounds good, low restriction system may enhance performance, but maybe the extra decibels just make it feel faster.

I always love riding through farmland. Makes me feel humble to see where our sustenance comes from.

Whilst this is not a ride of my own, it is an interesting overview of a ride through mid Wales.
Also A very interesting stop at a bike haunt I frequent occasionally. The Brecon Beacons and Baffle Haus bike store are a short ride from my home.
Skip to 9.18 if you just want to drool over some fantastic bikes and cars.

What a great time that would be. Beautiful scenery and a great stop.

Yeah, I could definitely make a habit out of hanging out at that place!

How did Ben's new (to him) bike do on the trip?
He is very impressed with it. We did need sort the brake light, moving one wire in the plug and the clutch pushrod actuator needed fine tuning. Ben says it ran great, pulled hard but he didn't wring it out, only 6 miles on the top end when we took delivery.

Man I just love that "Red Bike" and how it turned out. 🥰

I spy however, a missing taillight lens. :poke:
One of the wires seperated from the LED circuit board. I mastered "Dumbassery" in the repair and ultimatelly destroyed the circuit board. New light will be here in a day or 2. Live and learn, had @Ben1 's 80 Special as a back up, rode that the last day.

Title, tag n insurance then diddled around "checking stuff" finally put on a few miles at sunset. Went up a long driveway when I saw these and stole some pics. Happy with the F so far.

You mean it doesn’t have the usual 50 problems to sort out first? 😆
There's a list but overall they're minor issues for now, the "biggest" is the turn signal switch is fubar. Stuffed a rag in a fork seal til the new parts and a round tuit arrive. Front pads and good brake going through on the list also. Running great, nice and smooth all the way to red line. A couple ponies in there. ;^)
