Seeing/hearing radials flying formation (4), I rode out to our airport 6 miles west and found approximately 12 T28s.

I purchased a bratwurst w/onions and ground mustard and headed off on a ride. I meandered north and east through farm fields toward the lake. 12 miles later I parked at Hika Bay to eat the bratwurst washed down wit a glass of lemonade from a kids lemonade stand. The mom was a looker but I didn't loiter for a second glass.

I rode north along the lake shore toward Manitowoc. Found a sizeable park in Manitowoc with a ramble Frisbee golf course and winding roads throughout. I proceeded to the ice cream store but it appeared that the line was 1/2 hr wait. The shoreline weather was low 70s so I meandered south and west to warmer temps. Some corn crops are very late plantings due to lots of rain this spring. Other crops got in early and are quite a bit bigger.

The last pic illustrate our creative road building. Straight roads. Farms on either side. Temps increased to high 70s inland a couple miles. I was in short sleeve and jeans. I was glad I had installed the shield on my open face helmet. Weather like this and some hay cutting going on in a few fields means plenty of bugs for the shield to deflect. I zig zagged out to Osman and stopped at the Smiling Moose bar for Jalopen9 poppers. Nice to listen to some music outdoors.

Finally a 10 mile ride back home. A relaxing 75 miles.

Local food to go with the local live blues. Pork belly, smoked tomatoes & onions, eggs and grits. XS650 is parked outside the door.
Looks great, especially served on a plank!
Brings to mind the South Jersey Shad recipe my grandfather shared with me.

Growing up on the Big Timber creek, a branch off the Delaware, the Shad would make their spawning runs to where they started their lives and then die off like Salmon. The creek would be covered in dead shad drifting in and then out with the tidal waters.

Recipe requires a plank of white cedar and of course the shad.
Seasoned heavily with butter, salt, pepper, cut onions and lemon juice.....placed on the middle shelf of the oven and baked at 375 degrees until the onions have clarified and the shad flakes with a fork.
Then and only then, remove the plank from the oven, throw the shad away and eat the plank.

As a youth shad littered the beaches of Lake Michigan. Then Alewife littered the beaches.

Finally got intake gaskets for Buell so open heart surgery today. They are in the Vee right behind that fat, frame/gas tank, fun. Got r all done and though the old seals looked "fine" it's running much better, good. I ain't arguing. 20 mile Sunset ride for "testing purposes" only. Only saw about 8 deer in front of me. Second fawn to cross behind a doe just down the hill from the house nearly got slaughtered.

Good to see the Buell out and about! Man those deer are a real hazard!

Tore the Beemer down over winter... early spring actually. Did a few mods to it and a repaint. Finished it yesterday afternoon, but the heat index was 105°.... so no test ride. Was 85° (actual) this morning so I took it out for a shakedown run.

Hamilton Heights Park. Has a 2 mile walking trail, tons of rides for the kiddies and a fishing pond stocked with Trout (I think?)
I'll prolly do a writeup on everything that been done to the bike here in a bit.

Bike looks ace Jim. Love the colour scheme. Be good to hear about the upgrades too.
