Just got back from a ride up to the Triumph dealers and while I was there a guy was getting a new bike. I was outside talking to the service manager when the guy with the new bike was leaving. He didn't get far. Pulled out of the parking lot and went across the main road and into the ditch on the other side. We went over and helped him get the bike upright and he rode away without saying a thing. I just hope he made it home safe.

Oh man, some people really have no business on a bike. I remember a next door neighbor I used to have , that had a Honda 1000 sport bike. He sold it to this kid who showed up with cash and as he watched the kid wobble away on that bike , all he could do was groan!

He probably had to get home fast to empty his pants. 😂. Glad he wasn’t hurt.

Back when our downhill to a state highway driveway was still gravel more than once I was praying a buyer would make it through the warranty!
I actually had a "to the end of the driveway" warranty offered on a OEM repair. Best transmission shop ever and that R@R non OEM transmission is still good 33year later.

Went for a nice ride to Alice’s and to the ocean. 100miles. The only annoying thing was getting stung by something on my neck while riding on La Honda road.

Oh man I feel your pain, a couple years ago I had a bee hit and sting me right on my Adam’s Apple. I’m not allergic to bees but it caused my throat to start swelling immediately, it was actually a little scary, I was about 80 miles from home and I turned around and made a Beeline for home. ( You see what I did there? 😁 )
After that I bought one of those one of those thin stretchy neck gaiters that I wear to protect my neck, it also works well to protect my neck from sunburn.

A neck gaiter was my thought exactly. Will recycle it from my ski gear

Many, many years ago I was riding a friends Honda CT90 while wearing a helmet with a bubble visor. Well, don't I get a bumblebee instead the visor. It was clearly not happy, nor was I! I must have set a Guinness Book of Records time for a motorcycle-dismount-and helmet-removal. Never did get stung, though.

My riding career started in Florida. Back then, I usually wore a denim jacket, no windscreen and I liked wilderness routes. I had a routine of getting awful bites and stings on my neck. I have a half dozen of those stretchy neck gaiters now. It’s a good fix.

Guess this fits best in the "Just Ride" thread, as I believe that I have posted in the past on this event. Yesterday was the annual Montreal-chapter Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Group rally at Pritchard's Farm in Ormstown, Quebec. It is a bike gathering, concours event, swap meet and all around good time. It was smokin' hot out, but that didn't deter the faithful from turning out> Here's some pics:

A view of the grounds:

There were four XS 650's. Two of these have been posted before, but these two were new to me:

Next up a broad variety of bikes that struck my eye:

Although the venue is close enough to home to ride, I had the privilege of riding to the show in this:

The rod is a heavily modified '29 Ford Model A Sport Coupe on '32 rails, 283 cu. in. Chevy backed by a T5. Mark is a master fabricator and the body guy is also a master. The car is impeccable, with endless incredibly intricate fabricated elements that make it truly exceptional. Photos taken at the grounds of a micro-brewery a stone's through from the US border.

Deal of the day at the swap meet: a trailer-load of XS 650 parts including what appeared to be a complete but dismantled bike, a second from and a whole jumble of assorted XS bits. $125 Cdn! Was sold by the time mark spotted it. I had to settle for a set of aluminum Malcolm Smith enduro bars with a Maguro throttle and master for $15

Good day had by all!

Great show and great shots of the bikes and cars. Seems like you had a great day out too.

Thanks Adam...I really needed a break from my current main project, which is a boat rebuild. You just can't imagine how awful grinding and laying fiberglass in the heat and humidity is unless you've done it yourself. My third and final boat build!
