And then, there is this morning . Beaver dropped a tree over a dirt road I was on this morning at the bottom of a decreasing radius downhill bend ….

In the dark . First pic is from the other side of tree in a safe zone , about 5 minutes after impact . Hard to see!

Stayed up, but dinged my clutch lever hard enough to bust the ball off the cable
25 km from home on the way to work.

Got the tree off the road with help from the next guy who came along and almost smacks it, and decide what to do.

Neutral start up, power, slam down into first , power shift all the way back home …

Fun times and adventure!!

Cable on order, but I think thats it for this year lol

Perfect day for a ride. Went up the toll road to the top of Mount Equinox which has some serious hairpins. While I was up there a couple from Georgia parked next to me on a Tiger and 10 minutes later 2 guys from Ontario parked next us and they both had Tigers. Took the roundabout way home and just had to take a pic of this old covered bridge.

Just put Vermont on my bucket list!

Got off cheap ( again !)
... the kinda stuff that only happens in the Great White North (sorta tongue-in-cheek)! Yup, you got off easy, I'd say. Myself, I had a close encounter with a deer tonight. Both of us survived unscathed but a second or two either way and one or both of us would have been hurtin' tonight.

Lovin' all the fall ride stories. Here's mine...

I live in proximity of the Ottawa River valley, which is a vast flood plain, carved up into farmland along straight concession roads. Dull riding, however, the Laurentian Mountains are just across the river via ferry ride. That means twisty, rising, hilly roads through the forests, interspersed with lakes and small rapid rivers. Not quite Vermont, but very nice nonetheless. The last two days I ventured far beyond my usual range to get to the Laurentians and had epic rides as a result; temps still almost 70*F with cloudless skies and hardly any traffic at all. Today will probably be the last riding day of the season, as temps are falling dramatically by Thursday. This will be my new go-to riding area, but it does mean that I need at least 3 hours to get such a ride in. That doesn't readily happen for me, but I am making it one of my new priorities.

Here are the token photos; a typical Laurentian lake enlarged by the beavers and the solo ferry ride home.

Although deer in Florida and S.E. Georgia are relatively small, they are plentiful. Had a doe pokin' her head out on the way home from Biketoberfest last week. Got my attention. Stay...STAY... Good girl.
