Today is my 68th birthday!
It’s hard to believe it was eight years ago I showed up here with “My 60th birthday present” but alas it’s true. After a brutally hot summer, our beautiful winter weather has finally arrived, in recent weeks we’ve had some much needed rain and this morning when we went out for breakfast it was a brisk 38 degrees. ( Don’t laugh, we are desert dwellers, for us that is cold 😁 )
After coming home , I backed Big Red out of the garage to go for a ride. Just ran around old familiar roads, the Kansas City / Texas Rangers spring training ball park, a community park and on and on.

Not really anything special today, but I hated to let a birthday go by without going for a spin! 😉

Big happy birthday from Wales Bob.
Hope you have a good time.

another day at the salt mines.

I might regret putting miles on a DCT Africa Twin 🤔

Took the bike out for 110 miles on La Honda, Pescadero and back to SF. Beautiful day and the bike ran fantastic. This motor is perfect for Bay Area mountain roads.

Wow! That looks like such a great place to ride, I didn’t know they had countryside like that anywhere near San Francisco!

By the way, this should be on a post card! Beautiful shot! 😃

Thank you! Redwoods start just 15 minutes outside SF. There is a small mountain range that runs between the SF Bay and the Pacific Ocean. 3 hours and 110 miles of twisties

Last Sunday afternoon I rode out to Foxfire Ranch for some music and soul food. I rode my XS650SH. Always a great evening. When it was time to leave, it was cool and very much night. The ride home is about an hour and 100% rural. No traffic. None. Under those conditions, my stock headlight was adequate, even for deer watching. Nobody behind me to push. Cool enough to keep the bugs down. I just love a ride like that!

Sounds perfect Marty! 😎

Today's weather is perfect. We have abundant sunshine and temperatures in the sixties. I carved out a little time for a 50 mile ride.

I like riding along the bluff.

I'm traveling north with the river to my left.

The video is taken from the bluff looking down onto the Mississippi Delta.

Lake Arkabutla.

The Arkabutla Dam has failed and the lake is mostly drained. I believe the dam will have to be replaced. Everything below the dam is NO ACCESS. So, there's a lot of hiking, swimming, fishing and camping that is no longer accessible.
