Today's weather is perfect. We have abundant sunshine and temperatures in the sixties. I carved out a little time for a 50 mile ride.

I like riding along the bluff.

I'm traveling north with the river to my left.

The video is taken from the bluff looking down onto the Mississippi Delta.

Lake Arkabutla.

The Arkabutla Dam has failed and the lake is mostly drained. I believe the dam will have to be replaced. Everything below the dam is NO ACCESS. So, there's a lot of hiking, swimming, fishing and camping that is no longer accessable.
Nice roads and scenic beauty Marty; bike looks cool too.

Beautiful country Marty! 🙂

I have never been to Mississippi, but, your pictures make me want to take a trip there.
I should probably take some pictures of rundown trailers and trash along the road. ;)
I knew nothing about it until I moved here about six years ago. There’s a lot of stuff here worth visiting. Mississippi has a rich history. There’s a lot going on here.

Main course at the local juke joint last night. Music was provided by Brian Blake and friends.

Gotta find some warmer gloves to keep riding this time of year.
I was gifted a pair of Thinsulate gauntlets in 1984. I believe the brand is Olympia. They’ve been keeping my hands warm for a long time. They’re good down into the 20s. They’re still in perfect condition after all these years, but winter is very short here.

Today is my 68th birthday!
It’s hard to believe it was eight years ago I showed up here with “My 60th birthday present” but alas it’s true. After a brutally hot summer, our beautiful winter weather has finally arrived, in recent weeks we’ve had some much needed rain and this morning when we went out for breakfast it was a brisk 38 degrees. ( Don’t laugh, we are desert dwellers, for us that is cold 😁 )
After coming home , I backed Big Red out of the garage to go for a ride. Just ran around old familiar roads, the Kansas City / Texas Rangers spring training ball park, a community park and on and on.

Not really anything special today, but I hated to let a birthday go by without going for a spin! 😉

Happy birthday!! And many more...

Great White North people! I’ll sit here by the fire, thanks.
That's me and a few others on this forum. Riding is essentially done unless we have an exceptional day. Nothing in the 10 day forecast makes me think that's gonna happen. Tucked my 650 D into its wintering spot tonight and have been spending my shop time rebuilding a snow blower attachment for the tractor! Florida for me when winter really hits.

If you're in the Jacksonville area,@ NielsB and I will take you to lunch!

Trials on an XS650 is generally a bad idea... even at speed...
23C out today so I went for a 200km ride with a couple of buddies. One had a MG like mine and the other was riding his ST1300. Great day although super windy. Weather today looks good too so I might stretch the legs on the XS. Might be the last ride of the season.

Bare trees... I'm thinking women,,, shit, wrong thread... Never mind...

Cloudy, everything's gray now, low 40F's, heated socks, thermals, balaclava, heated grips, sand salt on the roads, about 30 miles.

Only cuz it's a new to me bike, and next week it's turning cold, You know?
No trails, dirt roads, or two track, rare as they are around here cuz it's gun deer season. Don't want my head mounted on a den wall.
That just might have been the last ride til spring. :(
