I have posted several times now about being able to take the XS out and having it work well after dealing with a lot of neglect and problems inflicted by previous owners. What I failed to mention was I would not have got to the point where I am now without this site, it's knowledgeable members with both good advice and help with parts so I want to give a big THANK YOU to you all for getting me here, I could not have done it with out you!

Took my bike down to The Race of Gentlemen and the Night Of The Troglodytes chopper party in Wildwood NJ this weekend....even met a few cool members from this board! Got some cool pics of the bike knocking around...

Allison agreed a fall ride to an afternoon fish fry would be a good thing.

it's days are coming to an end. Privately owned they have applied to the DNR to remove the dam. There were loads of gravel and rock in the parking lot.
Perfect day for a ride 70 with a light breeze. There's still hope for fall colors, some areas are still 100% green, we had frost two nights ago, but it's been very dry.

Unfortunately, all these private lakes with old stone dams are slowly going away. Where I grew up, there was one ("Hardgrater's") and we played hockey on it in the winter...it's still there, but ...

After getting the bike sorted I finally got around today to putting the good gas tank on it. The one that came on it was badly weathered and dented but at least held fuel, the current one does the bike more justice!

Open Megaphones of unknown origin that the PO put on the bike. The cones on the end are removable and I was able to make and install some baffle plates that quieted them down some and helped with exhaust scavenging. The cones went back on and hides the plates. I wanted a pair of commando mufflers eventually but have grown to like what I have, who knows I just might keep them.

We got a gorgeous day in Mississippi. The temp only 79F. Robin and I rode to Home Place Pastures for lunch. I had a bacon burger (bacon ground into the beef) and tallow fries. We filled the saddlebags with meat and eggs for the ride home. Nice!

Ferry pilot waited for me to get there before leaving, BOTH ways, I'm gonna buy a lottery ticket!
Picked madness cuz coming home through the bluffs full dark, that LED H4 conversion burns away the night. Beautiful night to be out.

Used to LOVE riding that Merimac ferry back when I lived up north
