Just Ride.

We got a gorgeous day in Mississippi. The temp only 79F. Robin and I rode to Home Place Pastures for lunch. I had a bacon burger (bacon ground into the beef) and tallow fries. We filled the saddlebags with meat and eggs for the ride home. Nice!
Nice looking day out Marty & Mrs. Looks like a cool place to have lunch too.
I hope the meat and eggs were well packed before shoving in the side bags..... Oh what a gloroius mess it could be.

Out puttering around today.
After sitting a month, had to shoot a bit of carb cleaner in a plug hole to go fire then it was fine for the ride.

We're about what I call peak color. Partly sunny and temps in the mid 70's, nothing could stop me, and Madness was a willing partner in crime. Off we went for a slow, picture taking 100 miles of back roads, all right here in Sauk county. Madness impressed, a fuel stop showed 55MPG plus and she started, ran, sat idling or with the kill switch off ignition on for photo stops with zero complaints. Comfortable position and seat, the windshield deflected the late season "lady bug" hoards. Gotta love her.
First off the Maple out the back door. ;) Usually one of the first to turn then quickly drop it's leaves.

Then wandered over to North Freedom for quick Friday fish fry lunch. Four Harley guys showed up just as I was leaving. Saw a number of bikes out touring today.

The Baraboo River near the Steam Train museum.
And a bit further on near Rock Springs

Wow! What a beautiful day for a ride! The fall colors add such a nice backdrop to the scenery, thanks for the photos! 😃

I'm not done yet, :sneaky:
Found this https://www.sugarmaplemx.com/ On a township road hillside with a spectacular view. Never knew it was there.

A huge old barn across the road was not doing so well.

Wandered around and went through White Mound County Park,

it surrounds a reservoir.
Just outside the park

Then a slow wander back towards home including some of Wisconsin's designated Rustic Roads.

They don't HAVE to be gravel but often are.
Finally tried to beat this H in a race but it ended in a dead heat!

Hope you enjoyed the little fall color tour. Took over 4 hours for 'bout 100 smiles traveled.

A quick jaunt out today, haven't been out in a month.
Raining leaves, some small branches on the back roads. 30mph winds.
State routes were clean.

From Prattsville heading towards Windham, I had to spin around to get this over my shoulder.
The bike was flawless, just over 70 mi. Great ride, lots of others out too getting in the last of the season.

Another great ride post Gary. Fabulous tree shots of autumnal bliss. My favorite time of the year.

Did my favorite loop just now. 58° and wall-to-wall sunshine, heater set on low, perfect in a hoodie. I'm surprised the color is as good as it is given how dry and windy it's been.
Looking GOOD!
Sorry, saw this and couldn't help thinking, hey DE's new equipment hauler! ;^)

PSA Us northerners have gotten to the time of year when you can't count on dry clean roads. Shaded areas are staying wet all day, falling leaves stick to the damp. The harvest is in full swing so farm equipment, mud, corn and other crop residue, are everywhere. The rut has started, the deer are moving. It can be nice to slow down and soak up the scenery.

^^^Well, if you MUST bastardize a Vette, the C4 is a good way to go.

I love mine, but they don't get much respect in the community overall. Not as much of a pooch as the late C3's, but close...

That series of Chevy/GMC pickups is my favorite. Had a REALLY ratty '65 with a warmed up 350 and a 4 speed in it before Rat Rods were cool.

Owned a few Corvettes, one C2 and two C3's. One C3 was a 71, 350-4spd roadster, slightly warmed up, nice, the second a completely donkus 78 coupe, couldn't pull the skin off a cup of pudding, so I get your point.

Personally, I like the C4's, not really the early ones, but the later ones like yours, once they again figured out how to make the engines perform better, 6-spds, and especially the roadsters. Nice ride!

Thanks, @Wagner73

A quick and dirty research effort puts my '90 in the sweet spot for C4's - late enough to have some zip, early enough to be affordable and avoid the issues with optical ignition. And I do love that 6 speed!

Back in the day, helped a buddy overhaul the 350 in a C3. 1975 IIRC, seriously underpowered with all the smog stuff. Somehow, when the engine went back in, most of that stuff got lost and a nice set of side pipes replaced the restrictive stock exhaust. Woke that puppy up in good shape.

And I think(?) in '90 you may have avoided the speed-density fuel injection as well.

Yes, my '71 had the base L48 engine, but with shorty headers w/ low restriction exhaust, Comp cam, Edelbrock intake, Holley carb...ran okay.

'75, hmmm. Yes, if I had to pick one that needed help, the '75 would've been it. First year of catalytic converter, etc. Terrible. Glad you fixed that!!
