Just Ride.

With highs in the 50's and dropping through the 40's by late afternoon an e-bike hit the spot for a ride today.
Township roads, Devils Lake State Park roads, campgrounds and trails.
Gotta work to frame shots with good color but late afternoon sun lights the torches!

Stopped and tossed a 25 pound coon off the road. Prolly a campground fed sow.
Coon wrastling can keep campers mighty busy.
A bit of exercise did me good.

The TX has been languishing in the back of the herd. Thought I'd give a it last ride for the season.
Battery was still up, not quite enough to e-start but after a couple prime kicks, ignition on and it fired first try.
Was mostly cloudy and 40's mebby 20 smiles dusk coming on. 5 deer that I saw...

No color adjustment, kinda gives that November feel eh?
Sat at an even low idle for the photo stops.

Oh no! 😲 I hate to think of your riding season coming to an end! You’ve been posting such beautiful photos lately. 😃
You'll not get rid of the ole ggg THAT easy.

There's still a few arrows in the quiver for this "fall".
But it's getting to be firewood cutting season, like E-bike riding, cool/cold weather fits.
A neighbor has an interesting project for me.

Tween that, short daylight, fall chores, and the rut...
There is a tall windshield on the way for the Uly, that'll need "testing". :geek:

So, finally got the "push" on, to ride this 'for the weather tanks (snow this weekend)
new pistons, rings in the honed jugs, rebuilt heads, assembled. Went through the Bing carbs. Fun looking through a different take on how to design a carb...
It has a little 6 volt battery, But ignition is magneto and it had "some spark". Was surprised how clean it was in there.

With the awesome @magoo66 test tank and some time kicking, it slowly came to life. After I found and replaced infinite resistance plug caps, I was able to chase the horseys 'round the pasture.

Shifting, brakes, clutch, lights, all working "cough", good. Then went all in, put the original tank back on, splashed in enough gas to make it to a gas station, then rode around for a bit.

Wow! tire scorching horsepower!
OK, it's a geezer or dwaddle around bike, 26HP when new, widely spaced 4 speed transmission, single leading shoe drum brakes front and rear. Suspension is good, loving the Earles type forks. Hit the front brake and the bike rises. It'll hold 60MPH if there's no steep hills. Good thing I'm a geezer. Lots of fun once you adjust your expectations. Got to fettle carb and ignition timing a bit, some other futzing and I'll send it out for winter slumber. That'll clear the lift for????
