Weather looked great, so a few hundred winding hilly back road miles arguing with the GPS 
in the driftless.Then a quiet evening by a campfire at Castle Mound State Forest. Nice hike up to a former fire watch tower atop the mound. More of the same type riding back home this afternoon. Packed light for a dry one nighter low of 50 and left the side boxes at home.

Gotta confess I love the heck out of township roads in the driftless, Down in hollers, threading ridgetops up n down, round n round. I'll just wander til I can't be found.

Got off on some fun little well packed gravel roads.
Neshonoc Lake and dam on the Lacrosse River.
Seen at a bar for lunch, Bangor, Small town Wisconsin, bars are about it for "cafe" food.
Gotta watch gravel on the RH corners, but worth it for the scenery!

That one is a 351.
You know, I would have thought so too, but it has a Shaker, and I didn't think Ford offered the Shaker option with the 351? Definitely could be wrong about that...I'm really a Chevy guy, with FOMOCO as a 2nd love.
Edit: Okay, more research says that the Shaker was an option for the 351 (either Windsor or Cleveland). However, I don't think it would say "Cobra Jet" on it as this one seems to?
I see now the 351 decal on the hood stripes! Coeur D Alene Id to Joseph Or
We took an overnight trip covering 400 miles (round trip). Starting in Coeur D Alene taking Highway 95 to Clarksville picking up Hwy129 in Washington which turns into HWY3 in Oregon. There is about 85 miles going through the Palouse which has wheat and canola crops.
Just before you drop into the valley of Lewiston Id and Clarksville Wa we took the old highway which is called the Spiral Highway which drops about 2,000 feet in about 10 miles with 65 turns.
Once through Clarksville you climb back with a few less curves up onto a plain with wheat fields and some forested areas for another 85 miles or so until you hit what's called the rattlesnake grade. Starting at around 4,000 ft it drops you another 2,000 ft and then back up 2,000 ft with about 200 curves in 17 miles

We stayed in Enterprise Oregon a few miles from Joseph. On Tuesday morning we rode to lake Wallowa just out of Joseph where we took the tram to the top of Mt Howard just shy of 9,000 ft. They have nice trails to walk for a few hours with great views
then back down.
My better half took the photos as she followed in the car.
