I delayed draining the carbs so today with mid 50s F I ran around the area to run plenty of fresh gas in/thru the jets befor I drain the carbs.. 1 stop was a park in Sheboygan Falls

Then I meandered through the county and Kohler an stopped at my brother's farm (hobby) and shot a couple pics at the "Horse Barn". It was for horses at one time when my dad was a kid but now the loft features 3 basket ball hoops. The main level has an office, a conference (sip tequila, rum, whiskeys) room with a full size pool table and good stereo.

Just an old barn that's now collapsed.

Same barn winter 8 years ago.

Love those old barns, they're everywhere but there's always one or 2 that are special to you.

At the south shop(Texas) for a few weeks and except for dealing with some senior family members health issues I’ve tried to get Patience out of the barn. Had a couple hours yesterday and it was close to 70. Looking like I’ve got that all week before reluctantly heading back to the frigid temps of home.even had bugs on my visor lolCCCE1A7F-DA72-4C40-AF19-B8CFE320C27A.jpeg89DDDA78-8AE1-4A36-9231-ACC572633897.jpegA36B6F88-DFF9-4C7C-8168-E79CAF3992C6.jpeg304EA977-543D-4F33-B09D-0EF006880F7C.jpegC4518C2C-52D8-4479-B386-557EB639746A.jpeg

Just got back form the last ride of the season on my trusty FJR1300.
View attachment 230051Left Coeur D Alene on Nov 3 heading to Phoenix. I knew I was pushing the window for weather but what the heck should be a good ride once I get to California. The temp was 34 deg but I was expecting it to reach the high 30's or low 40's. 70 miles out the temp dropped to 32 and the rain/condensation turned to ice. 380 miles later I reached Bend Oregon with temps at 44

The next morning I left Bend Or at 6:30 trying to beat the rain. It was a drizzle and 36 deg and soon turned to more rain. I followed a slow semi because the glare from the wet road and traffic coming at me was intense until sunrise at 7:45. Not enjoyable. As the sun came up I noticed 4-6 inches of snow on the side of the road but no ice. It finally started to get better once I crossed into Cali.

Stopped for the night in Redding Ca. Next Day I had some sun but quickly turned to rain on my way to Fort Bragg. Had some more rain in the morning but turned into a pretty nice day on the way down to Pacifica crossing the Golden Gate Bridge Ca along Hwy 1

I continued on Hwy 1 stopping at Monterey and the aquarium

Great ride Down to San Simeon. The elephant seals are interesting as the males are fighting this time of year

Stayed two day here because of constant rain and it was a nice break. The Hurst Castle is only 3 miles from the hotel but I decided to leave that for another trip with my better half. Finally I get some good weather 46 and sunny, cant beat that. Off to Twenty Nine Palms and Joshua Tree National Park. I have been through the park many times but its a nice ride. I ue=sed to rock climb here in my younger days.

On to Phoenix, another beautiful day I think it even reach 68 that day and sun. 2,057 miles of beautiful riding. I flew back yesterday leaving the FJR in Phoenix. I plan on picking it up in May and ride over and do Monument Valley again and other parts of the state on my way back to Coeur D Alene.

cra-z1 - Did you mean Bixby Creek bridge?

I have no idea which that bridge was, there were to many to track.

It might be the most iconic motorcycle place there is.

at 1:08 Bixby Creek Bridge in Golden Gate fog...

Today I had enough of sun, beach and sand, so I rented a bike to go exploring. As I am on holiday in Playa del Ingles on Gran Canaria, I decided to go straight north, basically through the middle of the island, south to north, on GC60. This may well be the most twisty mountain road I have ever ridden. And I have been over the Alps in Italy/ Switzerland/ Austria, around the canyons in Haute Provence in France, and on the west coast of Norway. Good thing I rented a really lightweight and good handling bike, a KTM Duke 390. Feels every bit as quick steering as my RD350, and then some, while still feeling stable and planted. The landscape is something else, enough cactii to make @Mailman feel at home, palm trees, pine trees, and dramatic rock formations. A highly recommended route, should you find yourself on GC.

Today, I made a full day out of it, with my significant other on the back of a Honda NC750X, approx 2015 model. Another good choice for extremely twisty and unfamiliar roads. We started north on GC60 again, and later headed northwest on GC220 to Ageate, where we had a seafood lunch. I really doubt that we averaged much over 40 km/h or 25 mph until we hit the motorway at Puerto Mogan. Most roads here on GCI actually are that twisty and hilly....And at places at least a 200 m drop into the sea should you run off the road. Great but challenging roads for sure.

It’s a beautiful day! I started 2023 with a New Years Day ride. I did a loop from Coldwater to Holly Springs, Mississippi.

The First Presbyterian Church building was under construction during Union occupation. The story says their pastor was asked to lead worship for the Union troops. He complied. Following that Sunday, the Union made use of the church as a stable.

Hill Country Blues:

R.L. Burnside at home in Independence, Mississippi, shot by Alan Lomax, Worth Long, and John Bishop in August, 1978

I live six miles from Independence. The music scene here is awesome. I'm trying to figure out how to get some motorcyclists here for local entertainment.
