Took my girl for a ride on the beach cruiser yesterday and wound up covered with ticks somehow.

Looks like a fun ride
Uggh I hate ticks every little twitch seems like another one
I had a friend who had a bunch of ticks on him and in his hurry to remove them he yanked off a mole too
What a bloody mess that was

It's a regular event at my place "Honey, I can't reach this tick". My poor wife.

True story... Friend was walking his dog on his property in my neighborhood. Dog picked up some ticks which he removed, then felt something funny "down there". A tick under his foreskin. Imagine! Well he couldn't get a good look so enlisted his wife to gently remove it. All good? No, the next day at work he developed an unnatural swelling, checked out of work and went to the clinic. The problem was taken care of. He called his wife and said " Jane remember last night when you pulled back my foreskin and...." Jane cut in, "Tom, I am driving your mother to her appointment and we are on speaker phone..."

CASTLE TOUR - THE COUNTY OF GWENT
This is a 100 mile round trip of the historic castles in my home county of Gwent.
All done on picturesque country roads through lovely green valleys and hills.
As the Welsh Flat Tracker is playing up I took the Suzuki Bandit 1200S out (Shes no show queen!).
It can be done in a day if you just take brief views of the structures; but more in-depth 'visits' need more time to appreciate whats on offer.
The trip starts in my home town of Newport and finishes at my birth place of Caerleon.

Yes its a Pub! Only the tower remains of the old castle.

From the humble pub tower at Caerleon to the grandeur of Raglan; if you have the time check out the history links.
These are just some of the historic castle sites within easy riding of my home town; all are accessible to the public and some have free entry!
Wales is in fact inundated with castles and historic buildings, as seen below, and well worth a visit.

I cannot believe how much history you are surrounded by! I appreciate the links, I will check them out for sure. I have been fascinated by medieval castles since I was a kid. I even wrote a school report about them when I was just a child. 🙂

So much more humble, at the Broadway Diner for breakfast.

I mean….Wow!

Nice photos too!

OK, not on the XS, but on the Multistrada ... returned last Sunday from a 2000 mile trip to the north of Scotland, taking in lots of goodies like Tongue, Durness, the Applecross pass, Isle of Skye, etc. Road surfaces were <ahem> variable and good suspension is a must if you want to get a move on.
There were a couple of incidents en route, this one happening to me when I hit a large and deep pothole at about 60 on the Isle of Skye:

Marc, following me on his Blackbird, said the bike bucked (I had about half a second to react and started standing on the pegs which probably saved me) and the rear crud catcher thing left the bike 'explosively' (his words).

Thankfully the bead didn't break and I was able to continue. Next, I need to get the wheel fixed but there are a few places around that can press it back into shape, one not too far away.

Happened to me on my 2013 1200 Multistrada and I don't remember hitting anything hard enough to bend it. Got it fixed and you couldn't tell it had ever been damaged.

Went out yesterday to scrub in a new set of tires and I stayed up in the mountains where it was fairly cool. Came down in the late afternoon and the lower I got the higher the temps . 97 when I pulled into the garage.

Took a ride up to "Hika Bay" today. My sailing friends have a Hika Bay race today and I thought I might see the Fleet. It is a 20 mile round trip on the water. Before my time boats had to sail to Hika, anchor, row ashore, sign in at the bar, return to the boat and sail back to port.

Returning I pass by Whistling Straights, a championship golf course in the Irish tradition. Berms are built all around so the golfer sees nothing but the course. The owner has even bought surrounding properties that had structures just to raze the structure to perserve sightlines. PGA events occur every 4 or 5 years. The course is right on the shore of Lake Michigan so many of us raft our boats 50-100 yards offshore for an all day party watching a few of the holes.

While in Hika Bay park this showed up. A barn find with lumpy cam 327, 4 speed, a less than desireable color and a very desirable blond passenger.
