Hi y‘all
I’ve been doing lots of digging on kickstarting technique, since I’m only 150lbs feather weight and like to keep my foot and leg in decent shape.
Next to all the common advice you see on Harley and also Brit Bikes, there’s one thing that is not fully clear to me:
Sometimes I see guys (especially Harley guys) , after giving it the kick that makes the engine fire, resting on the kicker pedal in its lowest position and only taking the foot off once they are sure the bike is running fine and won’t die.
I know that at this point the kicker is disengaged and so I guess it’s done to avoid the risk of a kickback at that moment when you’re raising your foot and the kicker is engaged and would snap back on ya.
Right?
And if so, would this work on the XS as well ? Only rarely I have seen guys applying this Harley style kick on a XS.
I hope you guys get what I’m trying to ask.
Cheers and happy new year!
