Today I test fit the rear wheel assy and new longer brake stay. I also made little plates for the fork stops. The swingarm is going to get a better polishing and some sort of easily removable protectant until our local chrome shop comes back on line (if ever?).

I spent Christmas making a couple of brackets to mount the oil cooler I removed from my first tracker and LSR bike. Might as well put it to some good use. Polished a longer brake stay and changed the gearing from the highway ratio of 17 & 43 to a more responsive 16 & 45. (wish I would have gone 16 & 48) The rear tire has good clearance at the swingarm cross brace and the axle is centered in the adjustment slot. Added a new 520 heavy duty chain. Then I vomited up another rough cut chain guard. I`m not going to detail this until I see what happens to the swingarm. Our chrome shop was working on their nickel tank last week. I`m hoping they`ll be back on line after the 1st of the new year. We`ll see.

I plumbed up the oil cooler. I broke one of the 90 degree fittings but I had a spare. I had to make new lines since I cut up the last set for the LSR build. I`m down to the swingarm and chain guard then it`s finished or at least until I think of something else. After the plumbing was done I decided to remove the broken part of the fitting from the line. "NOT". I heated the fitting and used a easyout with a 3 foot cheater bar. Easyout broke off and the threaded part of the fitting didn`t budge. The fitting, what`s left of the easyout and the cut off line are currently enjoying their new home at the bottom of the trash can. Oh well.

The chrome shop called Wed. and their back up and running. Took the swingarm to them Wed afternoon. Chrome shop called this morning and said the plating was done. Looks great as usual. $150 plus tax. Now all I need is a warm day to wrap this project up or think of something else. We`ll see.

Got the swingarm installed and starting to wrap this up. (until I think of something else or decide I don`t like it and give it another make over) Still needs a lot more detailing but it`s freezing in the garage.

Yes it is freezing in the garage. My solution is @Ben1 is visiting this weekend so he has a few "tasks" to help the" ol' man" out .

I took it down off the lift and sit the bike on the side stand. Too much lean for me. The larger 19" rear tire lets the bike lean left at a much greater angle. I added a little pad on the bottom of the side stand and it looks about right. This build make over is just about finished. Still needs at least another week of detailing and another week of polishing. That will give me plenty of time to think up something else.

Today I made the most totally ridiculous, useless. non functioning, worthless, impractical piece of crap I`ve ever made for a bike. Spark plug terminal covers. However a couple of bike shows are coming up this spring so why not. Judges at these shows are like Ostriches, their attracted to shiny things. I also made a small "peep" mirror some time ago and never used it so I installed it too.
