Left front caliper

I’m looking for a left front caliper for a 1981 Xs650.
Having trouble finding a decent one at a decent price.
do any other calipers bolt right up and work with our disc?
I just looked at it and I’m guessing could use the right hand on the left but hose routing would be different…..hmmmmmm.

This discusses the Lifan disc. Other Yamaha bikes used the same disc e.g. XS1100.

Curious about the caliper not disc.
I’m currently running the slotted xs1100 on the right and want to move to left side brake only.
Found a left s,ide xs1100 slotted rotor but was looking for left hand xs650 caliper.
after looking at the right hand stock caliper closer I’m going to use it on left side.

I just looked on Shopyamaha.com and an XS650SG(1980) and XS650SH(1981) have the same right hand caliper as an XS850SG/SH and XS1100SG/SH which were twin disc bikes. So I assume you should look for the left caliper from an XS850 or XS1100. Unfortunately I could not find the Special II on Shopyamaha.com's microfiche file.

Thanks. Ok go find one.
I don’t know what I was thinking. My right side can’t just flip and use on left! Second look straightened me out.

Have a look at this UK Ebay link and see if this left caliper matches your right:

If it does then you will see from the title which other models to search for.

Often you cannot just flip the calipers so check yours carefully. Those for the Special II I believe are stamped L and R. My Virago calipers cannot be flipped.

The SR500 used a left mounted caliper that matches the 650's.
