I picked it up in spring and it was falling apart and wouldnt run. In the picture I posted that is after 2 months of tinkering and hundreds of $$s in parts including a new seat, tires, handlebars, mufflers..... So it has come along way but still needs a multiple dent removals, case polishing, paint, rim clean up and a general freshen. It was made late in 77 as an early 78 and the 78s have seem to have a split in the vins as to when some stuff changes. To get this running I had to get it back to stock and jet it as a 77. once i did that i fired right up, idled and ran great. Then as a changed exhaust and the leakiy stock air box I jetted accordingly and it runs really great now. Now its just comsetics to get it back to prime condition. I have had probably 40 different bikes from all era's and I love this like bike more than any.

If you brush the snow off the car first, you don't have to shovel a second time...

Well, this was a calculated move. By clearing the car first you end up tramping down the snow around the vehicle which makes it much harder to shovel. My choice was to shovel the drive first then come back to clear the car. For those of you experienced with the fine art of shoveling snow I am confident I made the right decision. However, I am happy to take any feedback on my choice.

I own several XSs, and have built many others. I sell a couple each year and love them all. The red XS2 (72) is a restomod. A rephased XS2 (type 256) engine with later XS headpipes and stainless quiet core mufflers. Mikuni vm34 carbs and pamco rephased ignition using stock advancer.Great looking bikes! Tell us more about them, the green one has some interesting mods.
The teal XS is a restomod 74 TX650. Built to annoy the local old Brit bike crowd who I relentlessly abuse. It is a 360 standard engine with reproduction XS2 exhaust and Mikuni vm34 carbs. It uses a XS2 tank because I found a good one and wanted to use it.
Both the bikes use pma charging systems that I mostly source myself.
All work except paint done by myself. My home shop also has an old school machine shop.
Those 750 jugs on it?
