No. The cylinders are original. Unlike the dual disc setup that I had been wanting to do for some time. Honestly, those old discs and calipers are um… quite heavy. But they look and work well. But definitely a ton of unsprung weight there.

Thought I'd drop in and say Hi. Currently working on my 1980 650 that I picked up a few years ago. It's now a 750 with quite a few mods and I'm getting closer to getting it on the road.

This is from 1980 with my 1977 650. I put 150,000 miles on that bike and I traded it in for a 1984 BMW R100. Still have the BMW and it's got 168,000 miles on it.View attachment 234721
Yeah, I can now see an XS650 doing 150K with relative ease. My XS1100 has over 100K and it runs and rides at least as well as it ever has. With 64,000 on my Heritage Special and I'm 64 years old, it is likely to outlive me.

My only Seattle experience was "honeymooning" on Vancouver Island. I don't remember if it rained or not. I did spend 8 weeks in Kent, south east of London and dodging raindrops seemed a well practiced cultural skill.

Hopefully you'll be fire free this year.
We have certainly experienced that a lot in the last few years and a found a number of times we can't ride where we had planned, due to fires. But that inconvenience is of course nothing compared to the poor folks who have been driven from their homes in BC, WA, OR, and CA. Hope this season is better indeed.
