Not even close to the final build. So much left to do.

New here but not to bikes...
I'm from The Netherlands

After three long years without a bike I stumbled upon this thing... Just needed to get it. So I did.
1978 XS650 Custom Chopper, hardtail.

Need to do asap:
- Change handlebars (want straigt ones, hate this style)
- Get some sort of speedo
- Install blinkers in handlebars (motogadget discs???) with controls

Kickstarter only, hidden kill switch, really clean look. Love the sound!
Cant wait to go on the road and also do a photoshoot with it... (hobby of mine)

Not my style, but looks well done (except for the afore mentioned bars)!

Welcome!
It is really well done, need to draw out the electronic circuit next winter and tidy that one a bit and perhaps switch to m.uni blue for easier maintenance and add-ons.
Bar will be ordered really soon (as soon as the bike is delivered)
I'm looking for a semi straight, black handlebar.

Any suggestions for speedo? There is no original connection anymore so i was thinking about the Beeline Moto2 for the clean looks and build in navigation.

I like Renthal bars. I have the super bike high in black on my 650D. Have a look at the Renthal superbike low bars, available in black.

They also do the same bars in flat or various rises.

I was looking into these, I know i want straights already as for my previous bikes:

As I'm from The Netherlands lots of UK and US stuff here is really hard (Brexit and something with a certain mister) to get so I need to get EU stuff.

Drawing the electronics in my sparetime now.

Is there a wish for a custom threat for my bike? I need a name for it to...

Those bars look perfect and at a good price.

I'm really struggling with purchasing parts from anywhere outside the UK. I get caught with import tax. Things are not as easy as they were.
Stunning looking bike. Hope you enjoy it.
As long as the purchase price including shipping is less than £135 I have yet to pay any import tax and duties. Admittedly that restricts what you can buy without tax, but it helps. Sometimes it's a balancing act and making more than one purchase under the £135 threshold. It doesn't help us having a weak currency though. I used to buy a lot of parts from the USA when it was around $2 to the £.

I like Renthal bars too. But here in the US they are almost always the priciest option by far.
Yes, they aren't a cheap option here. But then Renthal are manufacturing in the UK and competing against China and the rest of Asia. It's almost impossible to run a manufacturing business in the UK now. I suppose it's only a matter of time before they're also selling Asian production. Then of course, there's the tariffs that have come along, they've probably made a big difference too. A perfect storm really one way or another.
