Longer shocks = chain fouling

I have 14.25" eye to eye shocks on my scrambler build and ran into excessive chain rubbing on the swingarm as well. I resolved the issue by adding a dirt bike chain slider to the swingarm. I drilled and tapped two holes in the swingarm to attach the slider.

Edit: I believe the slider I used is meant for a YZ450 or YZ250 dirt bike, not sure on the exact fitment. Didn't really matter as I cut it to fit anyway. I just went with one that looked mildly appropriate based on photos.

Ages ago I got dumped on my ass 'round a turn when the rear tire locked up. Don't recall the bike now, but everything was still in the mangled mess back there.... 'cept the nut, bolt and cotter pin for the brake stay.

Appreciate the concern, eagle eyed Jim. Those photos were taken mid build, cotter pins are in place

Did you sleeve the plastic parts so the bolts tighten up without squishing them?

Maybe? To be honest I don't recall for certain, it was a number of years ago. I feel like I would have put a spacer in there though. The plastic doesn't look deformed in the photos so I'm going to say I did :D
Using "bodywork" style button head screws also help, as the larger head helps spread the load.
