WTB a rear fender that is direct bolt-up to early year models frame.

Can be factory, aftermarket or custom application.

I have seen the current one on offer on eBay. Seller confirmed it is cracked.

Much appreciated.

Hi there,
I have one. I have a factory 1972 yamaha xs650 rear fender, in very good condition, good chrome etc.
Did you still need one?
I can get it ready for you, take a few pictures too.
Its not the cheapest $$$ part in the world, but Im sure you know that.
Let me know, I have the time today to get it done.
Thanks Jonathan

if he needed the stay too, why didn't he ask to buy that as well ? it's clearly two different items !

Hi there, Thanks for commenting.
Im not sure, I offered it to him but he said he had one already. Ive offered it to him afterwards for 50% less the price I should charge.
He said he wasnt going to use it but wanted to buy the fender.
I explained to him that he had to use it or fabricate something to secure the fender or else it would bounce up and down and hit the rear wheel.
He had already bolted on aftermarket turn signals to the frame. Im thinking he did that thru the bolt holes that mount the stay.
I havent heard from him yet today.
Thanks for your input my friend.
Jonathan

He clearly pointed out with a picture he took that he needed the 4 bolts for the stay but told me already that he had the stay.
I sent those to him with the fender, my best 4 chrome bolts for the stay. And i sent him the washer and nut to secure the fender to the stay underneath the fender and the rubber bushing for the stay to rest on the fender. All of that little stuff ends up costing something too but I was throwing it in with the deal to make it a good deal.
I sent him the left/right stay damper and bushings for the front of the fender.
I think the issue is that he has never assembled a whole bike or built one part by part which Ive done twice, part by part after buying each part.
Ive tore down and reassembled many many other 70-73 xs650, so his knowledge isnt on that level, yet.
I was just trying to help the guy out and really didnt want to sell the fender cuz as you know its a key part of the rear end of the bike.

He messaged me here early this morning, I havent read the message. I probably dont want to and wont talk to him again.
Unless somebody else tells me he wants to be sincere and didnt mean to get me all worked up.
Its hard keeping the blood pressure in the "good" range sometimes my friend.
Ive always had good people to talk with and do deals with here.
Never had an issue before.
Well except one time when some of the higher up mods here were laughing at my gf red painted toenails that were visible when she took a picture of a part for me. They assumed those were my red painted toenails. lol
Maybe they wanted them to be mine? but they werent.
:) crazy crazy, but its all good and kinda funny now that I think about it.

The guy wants me to refund him $40 dollars now.

Id like to request the Moderators of xs650 read over the entire conversation we had here and decide for us.
The guy is issuing "refund me $40 out of the $100 or else threats on ebay when the deal originated here.
You can see the pictures of the fender I sold him, tell us what you would sell that fender for in that condition.
Ill respect the decision of the moderators, if the other guy doesnt he shouldnt be allowed here anymore and prevented from making a new account to bypass any actions he brought onto himself.

Its ok by me for the private conversation we had to be posted for the general public here to read.
Or I could cut and paste it, he thinks nobody can know what he said or what i said cuz its private.
Im making it public
