Melnic's Triumph Spitfire

I think the Mother's product is "Back to Black", and it does work well. Adams VRT is also good
There’s a YouTube channel that tests all kinds of different products. I think it’s called Project Farm. I saw those products tested there. Mineral oil does soften old vinyl. I would not recommend it for a car sitting outside. It’s a slow worker.

2 steps forward and one back.
This was over Xmas. I had not tested the keys for the door locks when I purchased the car, so when I tested the driver door, it got stuck in the lock position. Pealed back the door cover to find a pin missing from the latch. Took a little time in awkward positions to get a pin in there but got it done.
Had lots of Cotter Pins.

Well, if anyone ever heard the speedo scream of death on a motorcycle? This had a Rear differential scream of death.
I originally thought it was a bad wheel bearing but it was the diff. I found a lower gear ratio rebuilt rear Diff and put it in.
I got it in the day before it started snowing and left snow on the ground here in MD for over 2 weeks. Have not taken it out since.
ON the test ride I had it up to 60mph and no scream and my RPMS dropped by 300RPM @ 55MPH with the new diff.
When rebuilding they spray paint to check the contact pattern and adjust the pinion. Backlash on this was nearly perfect. sending off an old diff to rebuild is like $1500 for this old car, I found this on ebay for $400 so it was a bargain. I had opened it up to verify backlash and to see if it was indeed rebuilt as the seller was not 100% certain as it came with another car.

MUCH better.
