This ad is for a pair of Mikuni Kogyo Japan BS 38 Carburetors.
This pair of carburetors came off of a 1976 Yamaha XS650.
The carburetors were working awesome at the time they were removed from the bike.
The far right side choke plunger lifter is present but not secured to the choke shaft. Missing screw that holds it in place. I never worried about it because the bike started and ran awesome with just the left side choke. This set of carburetors have been on my work shelf for about a year, so with all carburetors that have sit awhile a rebuild kit done on each carb may be just a good thing to do. This pair of carbs is a single pull throttle type used on yamaha xs650 1974 - 1978. Please see pictures.

Can't tell without seeing the intake bells but definitely not 74-75 carbs. They are probably first gen linked carbs 76-77.

Yep, what made you think the carbs were from 1974-75 ???
I dont think that was ever in dispute. But then you confirm theyre probably first gen carbs 76-77, which is already clearly stated.
...... Did you need some carbs or some carb rebuilding parts for either the BS 38 or
My ad title and description both clearly state "Mikuni Kogyo Japan 1976 BS 38 Carburetor set xs650 Yamaha"
My ad also specifies that these carbs have the 1974-78 type single pull throttle cable linkage.
They do not have the 'double' pull throttle cable linkage that would be needed if installing on a 1970-1973 earlier yamaha xs650 bike.
I have aftermarket air filters as seen in the ad installed on the carbs.
The carbs do however fit to the early year airbox pods and if you have the correct mounting brackets, they can also install to the early year battery box w/air box assembly.
