The more I think I know, the less it turns out I actually know. So I did an experiment, turning the fuel tap to reserve which I know pours fuel out (dunno if this is correct operation for reserve or not but it seems reasonable to me) and did some full send testing. No problem.
So I think the problem is with the "fixed" fuel tap. I've been suspicious for a while. On seems to work only on vacuum as expected, but the other day I tried prime and nothing happened. Think I'll replace it and run a single non vacuum tap.
The other weird thing was oil dripping from the left hand carby/air box boot again. It never did that before. Hopefully the check valve fixes that or I'll delve deeper into what others here have done re pcv.
