Or as Bob Hoover said.... "fly the airplane as far into the crash as you can."Goes to an old aviation mantra. No matter how big the problem, your #1 job is to FLY THE AIRPLANE!

I’m not sure how long this is going to last. I’ve always said my bike would make a nice little paint shaker. This is my top case rattling at idle. I know that the further you get from the engine the effect of the vibration tends to amplify.
This case rattle is very noticeable while riding.
Bob,
That sucker is shaking like a dog shitting razor blades.
Can you rubber mount it??

All right, plan B. I just ordered a Rapid Transit Platoon expandable tail bag from eBay. $60 and free shipping.
Robin had one on his bike and I know he really liked it. I also know from him that it will fit my rack perfectly because we had the exact same rack. It’ll be lower profile than my plastic box and rattle BeGone! Here’s a photo of it on Robins bike. I also included a photo of matching soft saddlebags that are available for the traveling guy ( Gary )

Did you use citrus stripper both times?Pic of the day. This is my second attempt to polish the right side case. The first time I put paint stripper on it for 4 hours and it didn't remove all the clear coat. I tried it again, here it is after an 18 hr soak with citrus stripper.

And here it is after washing the stripper off and cleaning it with Blue Magic and finishing up with a clean buffing wheel mounted in a drill.
Never took the cover off. Never hit it with any buffing compound. I'll say it again, I love that Blue Magic.
