Need Help with oil Seals

Depends on what kinda quality you want. It doesn't specify where, so I'm assuming those are Chinese repops. Tour Max sells ARS seals. They're the OEM (Japanese) for XS seals. A bit more spendy, but worth the extra for peace of mind in my book. Have a look here.

There's also this one on E-Bay. It does not have the e-start motor seal. 7 piece seal kit.

Mikes has a more complete kit. ARS seals as good as it gets. Cam seals are 7mm thick.
You can also order seals from partszilla. https://www.partzilla.com/catalog/yamaha/motorcycle

You don't really want the 7mm thick cam seals, they don't work so well. They don't stick in as far as the 5mm thick originals which means they don't get good "purchase" on the end of the cam (which doesn't stick out much). A triple lip seal is a nice idea but those extra lips don't do much good if they don't reach onto the cam, lol.

If that set really works with '76 as it says, you should also be able to used Mike's '80+ set. Sometimes cheap is good, but in my experience not so with no-name seals. Got one cheap set that even had the spring made on the opposite side on a couple. Tried them out of curiosity but none of them really worked.

I've used the 7mm on 2 engines with no problems.
I've used them on two sides... They worked but might take a certain touch. Lightly buffing (not polishing) the camshaft helps them.

I also have the 7 mm triple lip cam seals that came in a kit. I know that they are not the preferred ones to use, but it's all I have access to. My points side seal is leaking and needs a change. The 2 seals that came in the kit are Ars SDD 25-40-7. One says A7 and the other says A17. No arrows for direction, but I'm wondering if they are specific to right and left sides. No visible difference between the two. Any ideas ?

They are not directional other htan the spring faces the high pressure side.
I replaced the cam seals on madness with 5mm one was a win, the other not. Ordered some 25x40x5 from fleabay.

Meantime I pulled and reinstalled the leaker with a bit of tweaking, we'll see.

Not sure what make of the numbers, but I've never seen a seal that was direction specific that didn't have arrows.
In other words, no arrows means it'll work for any rotation... cw or ccw.
